Cameroonian national airline Camair-Co has announced its collaboration with MTN Cameroon for the development of an application that will better inform its customers about the availability and position of flights at the time they are required to travel.
“It has been reported to us that customers complained about the difficulty of accessing flight information. We have already experienced SMS and Webmail service, but that seems to need some improvements. We are partnering an application with MTN Cameroon to allow our passengers to be better informed about the position of flights, “Ernest Dikoum, the airline’s general manager, said in an exchange with journalists.
The manager also took the opportunity to present a summary of the company’s operational performance during the first half of 2017. It claims an average fill rate of 80%, a punctuality percentage of 69% and a regularity of flights Which reached 93%. As part of its restructuring, Camair-Co first opted to cover Cameroon’s territory, with only two flights currently out of the country, namely Cotonou in Benin and Ndjamena in Chad.
One of the grievances posed by the passengers of the Cameroonian airline has often been weak communication, especially when a suspension or cancellation of flights occurs. There are many passengers who have had to involuntarily prolong their stays in certain destinations after borrowing this company.
For the telecommunications operator MTN, this is an excellent opportunity to deploy its Business service in the civil aviation sector. The scope and costs of this collaboration have not been clarified.
