Gilles Thibault, the French Ambassador to Cameroon, mentioned the Anglophone crisis in his speech on the occasion of the French national day celebrated on July 14, 2017. In addition, the French Diplomat praised Cameroon’s bilingualism and multiculturalism. “The bilingual and multicultural nature of Cameroon is a tremendous asset in a context of globalization. I hope that the Cameroonians will benefit fully, “he said.

The head of the French diplomatic mission also pointed out that his country had never made a distinction between the French-speaking and Anglophone areas of Cameroon. He also welcomed the cooperation between the two countries. Especially in the field of security with the fight against terrorism through the war against the terrorist sect Boko haram. Not to mention the area of refugee care.
