The leaders of the Catholic Church will take action in the coming days as regards the investigation into the death of the Bishop of Bafia Bishop Jean-Marie Bénoît Bala. Silent since the disappearance of the bishop, the Vatican is expected to make an important outing in a few days as the newspaper L’Emergence announces.
According to the paper, the final conclusions of an independent inquiry initiated by the Holy See on the mysterious death of Bishop Benoit Bala will be published in a week. These conclusions should not be different from those which led to a first autopsy carried out by local doctors, according to the newspaper.
Since the discovery of the body of the prelate in the Sanaga River on June 2nd, the bishops of Cameroon have repeatedly reiterated that their colleague from Bafia was assassinated contrary to the Suicide thesis adopted by the Prosecutor at the Supreme Court of Yaounde Jean-Fils Ntamack.
“This firm position of the Church stems from the fact that during autopsies the government admitted the presence of a Catholic church doctor who discovered that Bishop Bala was sexually mutilated,” the newspaper said.
