Cameroon – Armed Forces: A competitive exam lanched for the recruitment of 7,000 new elements in the armies and the national gendarmerie

Applicants have until 4 August to apply to the staffs of the legions of gendarmeries from their places of residence.

The Ministry of Defense has just launched recruitment of 7,000 new elements for the armed forces and the national gendarmerie. Thus, for the armed forces, there are open positions for students of non-commissioned members of the armed forces (360) in option general service, 40 non-commissioned members of the armed forces in option military  and a recruitment of 4,600 regular recruits for general service.

As for the national gendarmerie, 2,200 positions are open according to the press release issued by the MINDEF. There are 270 on behalf of the non-commissioned members of the gendarmerie, 30 non-commissioned officers of the gendarmerie in option military health and 1 900 gendarme students.

Applicants have until 4 August to apply to the staffs of the legions of gendarmeries from their places of residence.

It should be remembered that Cameroon has eleven legions of gendarmeries, one for each region and the last in the Logone-et-Chari division, created by presidential decree on August 14, 2014, says Cameroon Tribune.

The recruitment tests begin on 28 August 2017 for both the armed forces and the national gendarmerie. For all forces (armed forces and gendarmerie), there are more than 7,000 open recruitment positions.

Young Cameroonians of both sexes are concerned. It is worth recalling that the announced recruitment of these young people should take place after the 1,800 who joined the Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR) between 7 January and 16 February 2017.
