Cameroon – Douala: Two Vodafone officials accused of terrorist financing are wanted by the Douala gendarmerie

A Radio-Worn Message that intrigues! Two Vodafone officials in Cameroon, whose offices (in the Bonanjo district, behind the former Le Méridien hotel) and homes in Douala are well known and regularly attend their occupations in full view, are actively wanted by the Territorial Brigade Commander of Bonanjo in Douala.

In a radio message issued on 14 June 2017, of which we have a copy, Wilfried Sama, Chief Financial Officer of Vodafone Cameroon, Antoine Pamboro, Managing Director of Vodafone in Cameroon and Lars Stork of Vodafone in Zambia, are sued for “Capital laundering, terrorist financing in Central Africa, fraud of foreign exchange legislation, forgery in private and commercial writing to the detriment of Zakari Ibrahim, acting on behalf of Ms Halimatou Hassana, Manager of Northwave Sarl Corporation ” .

Pending the outcome of this case, sources are close to this file, suggest that this is a settling accounts story between former partners. “Vodafone Cameroon is the trade name of Northwave Sarl which is a company that deals among other things in Telecommunications. Those who have filed a complaint against the Vodafone officials are the people in charge of Northwave. So it’s a conflict between yesterday’s partners who no longer look to the same direction. I am surprised and shocked by the gendarmerie which goes far beyond a private conflict to evoke terrorism. It’s still very strong!” says our source.
