The Ministry of Public Works announces that the second structure under construction on the Wouri will be ready to accommodate its first vehicles on December 31, 2017, the expected date for the completion of viaducts and accesses.
This will be exactly five months after delivery of the railway viaduct, which will be opened on July 31, 2017, according to the schedule of completion. In June 2017, the physical progress of the implementation phase is estimated at 91%, for a time-consuming consumption of 88% and a financial consumption of 79.85%.
The project to build the second bridge over the Wouri has been optimized with additional facilities, work is also in full swing at the two exits of the viaduct. Physical advancement is estimated at 64%, for a time consumption of 32% and 46.23%, for the financial component. Precisely, on the side of Bonabéri, work is carried out at 80% and 62% on the side of Deïdo. The provisional date for the provisional reception on the Deïdo side is scheduled for 19 October 2018.
The first stone of the second bridge over the Wouri was laid on 14 November 2013. The cost of this project of 120 billion FCFA is financed by the French Development Agency and the State of Cameroon. The structure is 800 meters long and 25 meters wide, with 2 km of connecting roads, five roads and two railways.
