The promotion of transparency and good governance of the extractive industries within the CEMAC Community area has just been enriched by new players. They are members of the network of journalists of Central Africa for governance in the CEMAC area.

On June 8, at a meeting with the CEMAC commission, media professionals from the six member countries of the subregion committed themselves to playing their part in the good governance of the extractive industries.

For the sake of efficiency of the media, media and information will be produced in order to sensitize the local populations to the value chain and the environmental issues of the extractive industries; Strengthen the capacity of local media; To promote the visibility of the activities of the Cemac commission on the governance of the extractive industries.

Through the GIZ-Remap project, the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), has committed to supporting this initiative.
