The international defender of the Cameroon football team must undergo surgery in Europe.
In the AfCON 2019 qualifying match, Cameroon defeated Morocco on the score of one goal to zero. The meeting took place this Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3pm at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde. Oyongo Bitolo, Cameroon’s international from Impact Montreal, dropped his team-mates in the 25th minute following a knee injury. Transferred to the Emergency Center in Yaoundé, the following statement on the situation of the player was published by the Team Press Officer of the Indomitable Lions.
Indomitable Lions: defender Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo came out on injury during the match played this Saturday 10 June 2017 in Yaoundé against Morocco. The diagnosis made by the medical staff and confirmed by an MRI performed in a hospital in Yaounde indicates a rupture of the patellar tendon. The player must therefore undergo surgery. In collaboration with his club, the Cameroon Football Federation is organizing for an evacuation as soon as possible.
