I am coming to you through this e-mail to let you know that refined vegetable oils not fortified with vitamin A are currently being marketed in the Super U supermarket and in Douala in open air, “said Jacquie Kemleu Tchabgou (photo) in an email addressed to the regional delegate of trade for the Littoral.

The Secretary General of the Cameroon Oil Refiners Association (Asroc), who accompanies his photo e-mail from the Super U stalls, as well as an invoice for the purchase of non-enriched vegetable oils, solicits “Urgent intervention ” from public authorities,” in this period of high production at the local level, with a view to protecting the health of the consumer, the national economy … “.

Indeed, explains the SG of Asroc, in addition to not complying with technical regulation NC 77 on the obligation to enrich vitamin A vegetable oils sold on the territory of Cameroon, certain oils marketed by the French brand Super U in Douala also fail to comply with “NC 04 on the labeling of prepackaged foodstuffs“, which informs consumers about the various components of oils and their use.
