The Atlas Lions arrived in Yaoundé on Thursday, June 8th. The men of Hervé Renard are preparing to play their first game of the qualifiers of the 2019 AFCON against Cameroon Saturday at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium of Yaoundé.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has booked a private plane so that the Atlas Lions can head directly to the Cameroonian capital Yaounde. The players take part this Friday at the only training session at the military stadium in Yaounde before the game tomorrow.
The meeting between Cameroon and Morocco is far from being a game without stakes. For the Atlas Lions, it is to avoid any semblance of surprise and to prepare in the best conditions the remaining matches of the qualifiers of the World Cup.
In front, the indomitable Lions prepare their trip to Russia, where they take part in the Confederations Cup. Hugo Broos’ men have been preparing for several days in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to escape pressure from “media, families and friends,” according to coach Hugo Broos.
