The black series continues its good-man of way in the catholic church of Cameroon. After the death of Bishop Jean Marie Benoit Balla under mysterious circumstances, it was the turn of the Rev. Fr. Augustin Ndi to join the house of his heavenly Father on the morning of Wednesday, June 07, 2017.
The information that has been confirmed by the hierarchy of the church. In an official statement, the Bishop of Mamfé, Bishop Andrew Nkea, announced “the sudden death of the Rev. Fr. Augustin Ndi at the parish of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of Nguti “. According to the same statement, the medical report says “a cardiac arrest” as the cause of the death of this man of God. The Bishop of Mamfé invited the faithful to pray for the rest of the soul of the disappeared.
This nth disappearance of a Catholic priest in Cameroon under slightly blurred circumstances constitutes a blow to name only the faithful of this religion but also to the Biya regime that still struggles to elucidate the previous deaths of Cameroon prelates. Rev. Fr. Augustin Ndi was a man known for his outspokenness in his homilies. He would have denounced several times in his sermons the excesses of the regime of Paul BIYA. He is considered a support of the English-speaking cause. His death coincided with the appearance of the Anglophone leaders before the Military Court, which, moreover, rejected their request for release.
