The Nepad Agency, the implementing agency for the Program of Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA), has been at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) in Libreville from 30 May to 2 June 2017.
The main objective of the mission was to conduct consultations and workshops to overcome all administrative, financial and technical obstacles in order to accelerate the implementation of the PIDA (transport, energy, ICT) projects within the ECCAS.
The outcome of the work, it was decided is to think about better management of communication and to set up the basic team of the project, through the deployment of the technical expert and the occasional support of consultants. In addition, it was decided by both parties to evaluate the administrative, financial and procurement processes to ensure optimal budget implementation of PIDA.
ECCAS undertook to provide Nepad with data and information on priority regional projects.
The end of the work was sanctioned by the signing of an aide-mémoire by the Deputy Secretary-General in charge of ECCAS, Marie Thérèse Chantal Mfoula, and by the advisor to the Executive Secretary Aboubakari Baba-Moussa, for the NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development).
