Gilles Thibault, French Ambassador to Cameroon, received in audience on Tuesday, spoke of a possible summit meeting between Macron and his Cameroonian counterpart Paul Biya, without giving a date.
Interrogated at the end of the hearing granted to him by the Cameroonian president, the French diplomat has hinted that the election of Emmanuel Macron, was on the menu of his interview with the Cameroonian president.
The Cameroonian president and the French diplomat addressed issues related to international politics, including the election of Emmanuel Macron and a possible meeting between Biya and the new tenant of the Elysee Palace.
In addition, the two men talked of the French ambassador’s visit to the far north of Cameroon, in Kousseri, Fotokol, Makary, Goulfey, Guidiguis and Lara, and also the recent summits of NATO and G7.
These localities of the Far North welcome the displaced populations, victims of the exactions of the Nigerian sect Boko Haram, which receive aid from humanitarian organizations and the international community including France.
