The Moroccan Platinum Power announced on May 24 that it has launched a call for pre-qualification of companies, with a view to concluding a turnkey contract to mobilize the required resources, in the construction and installation of the Makay hydroelectric complex in Cameroon, with a forecast capacity of 350 MW.
The launch of this pre-qualification call comes after the signing on 13 April 2017 in Yaoundé of an agreement on the terms of reference relating to the project and the contract for the purchase of electricity between the State of the Republic Cameroon, Platinum Power and Eneo Cameroon.
Interested entities are invited to submit a pre-qualification dossier for the Makay project in the conditions detailed in the documents downloadable on the Moroccan company’s website.
The Makay complex, located on the Nyong River in the Nyong-et-Kelle division, will produce more than 1600GWh/year at a capital cost of one billion dollars. This would translate into access to electricity for an additional 6 million people in Cameroon.
