Cameroon – Cooperation: Norway wants to intensify its economic cooperation with Cameroon, by opening a Consulate in Douala

The government of Cameroon has just approved the designation in Douala, the economic capital of the country, of Mohamed Abdoulaye Diop to the post of Honorary Consul of Norway in Cameroon, we were informed from authorized sources.

The opening of a Norwegian Consulate in Cameroon should make it possible to intensify exchanges between the two countries, whose economic cooperation is still very discreet. Indeed, this Nordic country does not appear on the list of the biggest partners of Cameroon.

Moreover, in addition to Norwegian actions in the fields of education and health, notably in the northern part of Cameroon, the Government of Cameroon signed a credit agreement in January 2017 in the amount of 37.8 Billion FCFA with Giek Bank of Norway, to finance drinking water projects in the country.
