Banyo’s main customs office, which borders Nigeria, has just received from its general management (GM) the award for best individual performance in revenue mobilization in 2016.

As of December 31, 2016, the unit had a cash basis of CFAF 362.57 million. According to the GM, this is a dazzling development since it produced 53.38 million CFA francs in 2010. Six years later, revenues were multiplied by six, which makes it possible to envisage the future with serenity. In the first quarter of the current year, this office in Banyo already has budgetary revenues of CFAF 66.51 million.

Banyo is also congratulated for its fight against fraud, smuggling, control of possession and movement of goods (sugar, rice, flour …) from both Cameroon and Nigeria.

According to the GM, this success is also partly due to the cooperation of the Cameroonian Customs office with other actors at the borders. This involves raising awareness and providing information to economic operators.

For the first three months of 2017, the main office of the Banyo Senior Customs Office is at an honorable level, including CFAF 4.72 million in fines.
