The Government delegate was asked to dismiss his request for the dismissal of ten staff delegates.
Fritz Ntonè Ntonè will have to deal with the 10 staff delegates he wanted to sack. This was decided by the Minister of Labor and Social Security (MINTSS), Grégoire Owona. He was seized on 20 April 2017 by the Government delegate to the Douala City Council (DCC).
On that day, the super mayor wrote letters to the 10 delegates of the administration’s staff, informing them of the suspension of their salaries. But the MINTSS decided otherwise.
It was the Secretary-General of the Ministry, on behalf of the Minister, who addressed the reply to the regional delegate.
Everything started from a strike observed on April 10 by employees of the DCC in the Bananjo district. Main claim being the rapid establishment of non-existent coverage for two decades. Faced with what they regarded as Fritz Ntonè Ntonè’s contempt for their claim, the staff delegates initiated a strike with the support of the Wouri Workers’ Union.
For his part, the government delegate said that it was “a small group of manipulated individuals who came to disturb the public order with unfounded claims“.
