Cameroon – Boko Haram: At least four deaths during a double suicide bombing in Mayo-Sava this Friday

Written by Deckson N.

At least four people were killed in a suicide bombing that occurred early this morning in Limani, a town in the Mayo-Sava division, more than 80 km from Maroua, the main city of the Far North.

Among the victims, the two suicide bombers, and two members of the Limani vigilante committee, whose mission is to provide information to the leaders of the rapid intervention battalions (BIR), an elite unit of the Cameroonian army.

6 others, including three members of the vigilante committee, were wounded during the suicide attack this morning in Limani, a border village in Nigeria, not far from Kolofata, another city battered by incursions of terrorists of the Nigerian Islamist sect, who has pledged allegiance to the Organization of the Islamic State and is now called the Province of the Islamic State in West Africa.

The attack this morning comes at a time when the Cameroonian army, operating under the banner of the Mixed Multinational Force (MMF), whose first sector is based in Mora, launched a few days ago an assault with the goal of flushing out Islamists settled in camps not far from the border with Cameroon.
