The scarcity of international matches did not lead to too many changes this month of May 2017 in the rankings of the International Federation of Football Association.
FIFA released on Thursday, May 4, 2017, a new ranking of national football teams. Compared to last April’s ranking, the African podium has not changed. Egypt (19th) remains the leader on the continent, followed by Senegal (30th) and Cameroon (33rd).
Worldwide, it is also the status quo with Brazil, followed by Argentina and Germany.
Cameroon is better placed than Morocco (53rd), its next opponent. The Indomitable Lions will receive the Atlas Lions in the first half of June 2017 as part of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
In the same month of June, Cameroon will be in Russia to play the first round of the Confederation Cup respectively against Chile, ranked 4th in the new FIFA ranking, then against Australia ranked 50th and against Germany 3rd.
