A family in Buea Wednesday May 3, 2017 blocked the entrance into the Buea regional hospital demanding the where about of the foetus of their deceased daughter Lowe Christine Laure who died a month ago.
Report says she died at the regional hospital and had her foetus extracted by mortuary attendants who are said to have immediately buried it without the consent of the family.
Family members who had since been demanding answers from the hospital management decided to take an aggressive move Wednesday when they held placards bearing messages such as, “Regional hospital of Buea medical staff, tell us something about the death of Lowe Christine Laure and her missing baby.”
She died with an 8 months pregnancy according to sources.
The Director of the regional hospital Dr Orock tried in vain to convince the family to leave the entrance for dialogue.
The supervisory authority of the hospital, Mayor of Buea Patrick Ekema Esunge together with the regional delegate for public health succeeded to calm the grumbling family members and took them away for a closed door meeting where the press was kept at a distance.
