Ejected from his position as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Camair-co yesterday Monday 24 April 2017, Dr Méfiro Oumarou was invited to bring all the necessary collaboration to a serene climate within the Cameroonian Airline.
“Useful, but out of the house.” Thus, several sophisticated observers describe the treatment inflicted on Dr. Méfiro Oumarou. The latter, who was also minister delegate to the Minister of Transport, was dismissed as Camair-co’s chairman of the Board of Directors yesterday, 24 April 2017. A position he had held for only 8 months. With Ernest Dikoum maintained as General Manager of Camair-co yesterday, they were presented at the time of their appointment in August 2016, as 2 pilots with a true job profile. The one needed to re-launch the national airline.
But according to sources, since the announcement and validation of the recovery plan of Camair-co, relations between the two men were no longer at best in their form about the management of this recovery plan. A situation which obviously pushed the president of the republic Paul Biya to decide, opting for the appointment of a new Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Méfiro Oumarou is sidelined. But not quite, suggests transport minister Edgar Alain Mébé Ngo’o, present at the extraordinary board meeting held in the capital Yaounde. After reading the decree of the head of state appointing a new Chairman, the boss of transport immediately proceeded to the installation of the lucky elected. In his speech Minister Edgard Alain Mébé Ngo’o, asked the outgoing Chairman to bring all the necessary collaboration to a serene climate within the Camair-co. Intriguing as a recommendation when we know that this serene climate did not prevail when Mefiro Oumarou was in the house.
Below is an excerpt of the speech by Minister of Transport Edgar Alain Mébé Ngo’o during the extraordinary meeting of the board of directors, during which Dr. Méfiro Oumarou was disembarked:
