The businessman accuses a former partner of having diverted amounts seized from an account with the help of the bank.
Bestinver Cameroon SA (BESTCAM), represented by Baba Ahmadou Danpullo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, filed a complaint against Ngankeu Pierre, Managing Director of the Africa Import Company and Dame Mboudou Fernande, Chief of service of Banque Atlantique of Yaoundé. The first is held in the central prison of Yaounde and is accused of embezzlement of property seized while the lady, who compares freely, is accused of complicity in these facts, narrates the Kalara weekly newspaper of Monday 24 April 2017.
According to the remarks made by the businessman during the hearing of 18 April at the Court of First Instance (CFI) in Yaoundé, he reportedly joined Pierre Ngankeu, who wanted to sell a building in the Santa Barbara neighborhood of Yaoundé. After visiting the site, Baba Danpullo said he signed for the benefit of Africa Import, six checks with a total value of 446 million FCFA to acquire the building. Unfortunately, the site will ultimately be sold to a third party by the owner.
But instead of returning the total amount paid by Baba Danpullo, 350 million FCFA will be deposited to his account. As for the 96 million FCFA, representing two years of rent, they will be transferred to the personal account of Pierre Ngankeu in the Banque Atlantique on July 27, 2015. An amount that he will withdraw the next day in another city.
According to the newspaper, it was not until December 9, 2015, that Baba Danpullo realized that he had been duped. On December 21 of the same year, the Administrative Court of Yaoundé authorized BestCam to practice a seizure of receivables due on the account of the company Africa Import. For Baba Danpullo, this diversion of the sums seized was only possible with the complicity of the beneficiary of the funds, which according to him deceived the vigilance of dame Mboudou with some insipid stratagems. The audition of the accused will take place on May 2nd.
