In May 1974, when Valéry Giscard d’Estaing was elected President of the French Republic, it was in CAR that he decided to make his first official visit. As is traditionally the case in France, the new President often chooses Germany as the first destination because of the historical and diplomatic ties that bind the two strong nations of the European Union. In the face of surprise, Giscard d’Estaing made an unprecedented choice, for reasons he never wanted to make clear. But before the death of Emperor Bokassa, the former deposed president of the CAR made unpublished revelations about the Central African Republic obsession of Giscard d’Estaing.

Bokassa says that Giscard did not only dropped him, but he took his own belongings, the diamonds of the CAR, and he also stole his wife. Giscard’s wife had spent 24 hours in CAR, and he asked Bokassa to send him his wife to France to prove that relations between the two countries are doing well. The wife of Bokassa spent two months out of the CAR, from her marital home and was in France with Giscard d’Estaing. The latter gave Catherine (Bokassa’s wife) 50 million francs a month. In addition, the French president had a young man serving at the Elysee who took care of the Empress Catherine during her stay in France. But the turning point of the story comes at the moment when Giscard d’Estaing learned that the servant slept with his mistress, the wife of Bokassa. Thus, according to the testimony of Bokassa, Giscard precipitated the death of the young lover of the Empress. During these two months spent in France with the French president, the wife of Bokassa according to the same testimonies, took a pregnancy of Giscard.

To stifle the affair, Bokassa aborted his wife in silence. He spoke of this affair only when he was driven out of power by the same Giscard, in order to stifle the affairs of diamonds. Remember that Giscard was Bokassa’s friend, with whom he hunted elephants in the forests of the CAR, to whom he gave the diamonds, the uranium of the country, to whom he confided his villa for his unofficial stays in the CAR. Remember also that when Bokassa was inducted emperor and president for life of the CAR, his crown weighed more than 7,000 carats of diamonds. The ceremony had 5000 guests, 60 000 bottles of champagnes, 10 000 goldsmiths … the cost of the evening is estimated at billions of CFA francs. But Bokassa left power extremely poor, in exile, alone, and depressed. This led him later to become a pastor and to appear under the new crown of prophet of God.
