Through the GIZ, its co-operation body, the Federal Republic of Germany will soon release an envelope of CFAF 9 billion for the implementation of the Rural Development Support Project (Projet d’appui au développement rural – PADER), which mainly targets farmers in the three northern regions of Cameroon.

The information was revealed during a workshop on the management of this envelope which has just been held in Yaounde, the political capital of Cameroon. This program, it is said, will consist in providing small farmers with various support, with a view to boosting their production, encouraging processing and improving the marketing channels of the products.

The start-up period of the program in the field is not yet known. At GIZ, it was pointed out that the work would be launched as soon as the details had been finalized by the Governments of Cameroon and Germany.
