The Sesco Diamond Award recognizes women who have created wealth and those who have made a name for themselves in sport.
For the umpteenth time the performances of Aboudi Onguene at the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2016 were rewarded. On March 25, 2017 in Yaoundé in the Central Region, the striker of the indomitable Lionesses received the Sesco Diamond Award from the Diaspora. The promoter of the event indicated that it is a question of recognizing and rewarding women who create wealth and those who stand out in the field of sport. Called Sesco’s School Entrepreneurship Week.
This award has two categories. The first looks at school entrepreneurship and the second on sport. It is therefore in the second category of this prize that Aboudi Onguene called “the arrow“, was rewarded alongside her teammate Raissa Feudjio. Taking part in the ceremony Nicole Okalia Bilai the Senator, godmother of the event also praised the performances of the players. She said “at the time the girls were not allowed to touch a ball. Yet today we are organizing a ceremony to reward those who excel in this field “.
As a reminder Aboudi Onguene came out best player of the AFCON 2016 which was played in Cameroon. To mention her achievements, it should be noted that the lioness who is currently playing at Csk Moscow from Russia is amongst others the gold medalist of the African Games of Maputo in Mozambique 2011, triple winner of the championship in Cameroon with Louves Minproff and double Winner of the Cameroon Cup.
