The Cameroonian army, in symbiosis with the Multinational Joint Force (MJF), inflicted heavy human and material losses on the Nigerian terrorist sect Boko Haram during an operation in Nigerian territory from 27 to 28 January 2017.
This operation follows the repeated incursions of terrorists from Boko Haram into Cameroonian territory, announced Wednesday, the spokesman of the Government of Cameroon, in a statement read on CRTV.
The Minister of Communication (MINCOM), Issa Tchiroma Bakary, said that at the end of this fight under the banner of the MJF supported by the operations Alpha and Emergence 4, 13 terrorists “were definitely annihilated” Assault including an AK47 and two falls, an automatic pistol, spare guns, four boxes of chargers and hundreds of ammunition of various calibres, two explosive belts for kamikazes, three explosive charges, eleven rifle, a handgun, Six motorcycles and six bicycles, various objects used in the manufacture of explosive devices such as batteries, various propaganda items including ten flags of Boko Haram.
According to the member of the Government, no losses were registered on Cameroon side.
In four days, three Boko Haram suicide attacks killed five people in the Far North Region, including three suicide bombers and two civilian casualties. On Monday, Brigadier General Valere Nka took command of the 4th Inter-Army Military Region replacing General Jacob Kodji who died on 22 January in a helicopter crash in Bogo.
