Cameroon – CAF: Despite his fragile health, Issa Hayatou candidate for an 8th term

Despite being in a fragile health, Cameroon’s Issa Hayatou announced his candidacy for an 8th term as head of the African Confederation of Football (CAF).

Issa Hayatou, 70-year old at the head of the CAF since 1988, is candidate for an 8th term to head the umbrella body of African football for the period 2017-2021, said the CAF Friday in Libreville, Gabon, where Opens this Saturday, the 31st edition of the AFCON.

The Cameroonian will have as only competitor Ahmad, the president of the Malagasy Federation.

The election is scheduled for March 2017.
