The Cameroonian Oil Deposits Corporation (Société camerounaise des dépôts pétroliers – SCDP) announces that it has just completed construction work on a new sphere of storage of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) at the Yaounde-Nsam depot.
“This new space for domestic gas storage thus reinforces the capacities of the single sphere built in the 1960s. This increases the storage capacity of the deposit from 1000 to 2000 m3 and gives a flexible supply of Thus increasing the autonomy of stock availability from 5 to 10 days to the satisfaction of the populations of the southern and eastern regions, which are now protected from the recurring shortages of domestic gas at the end of the year ” , Said in a statement, the CEO of the SCDP, Gaston Eloundou Essomba.
It should be noted that this operation to increase the storage capacity of LPG in Yaounde occurs after that of Douala in Bonaberi, which saw its installations expanded by almost 60% in 2015.
