The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications (Minpostel), Minette Libom Li Likeng, has just successfully defended before the Committee on Finance and Budget for the year 2017 a total of CFAF 53.388 billion for 2017 ‘in the National Assembly.
In her argument, the Government member indicated that this budget will be devoted to the consolidation of priority actions for the development of the postal sector, optimization of the use of telecommunications and ICT infrastructures and the promotion of governance .
In the area of postal and financial services, there will be increased networking, improved national postal coverage and the development of the universal postal service, with a view to promoting access to postal and financial services Extent of the national territory.
As regards telecommunications and ICT, Minpostel intends to strengthen fast and high-speed infrastructures with the aim of improving the quality and affordability of services.
In terms of governance, the overall focus will be on improving the working environment at the Post Office. All things will happen “on the basis of the strategic plan of development of the digital economy,” insisted Ms. Libom Li Likeng.
In their various speeches, members of the Finance and Budget Committee stressed the need to give back to the postal sector its reputation.
