Agbor Gilbert Ebot, the CEO of CAMIFF (Cameroon International Film Festival) has not been indifferent to the riots in recent days in the English speaking parts of the country. Like many Cameroonians on social media, he shared pictures and messages concerning the riots (obviously in favor of a peaceful strike).

Another Cameroonian, this time Apostle John Chi, got involved too in his own way. He had a “special” prayer with the forces of law and order. See the picture below.

This made many people angry and some even called the prophet a “political pastor“. Agbor was not silent about this, and he made that know this morning. Read below.

The oppressed peoples can liberate themselves only through struggle. This is a simple and clear truth confirmed by history. YOU CAN NOT PRAY FOR PEACE AND USE GUNS ON PEACEFUL PROTESTERS. I WAS HOPING JOHN CHI WILL VISIT THE HOME OF ALL THE YOUNG MEN KILLED IN BAMENDA AND KUMBA. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. We will not stay silence, while they take the lives of our brothers and sisters. We should not turn a blind eye to the murder with no repercussions. We will not live on our knees, we will die on our feet, after all we all will die someday. Please this is not right and this not the solution. The is democracy in Cameroon, Freedom of expression and human rights. English or French Cameroonian, we all have equal rights, don’t make this an Anglophone – Francophone issue, this is not a political issue and our bilingualism can be our strongest force. All you young Cameroonians on the streets shooting your own people who look like you and talk like you in the name of keeping peace. That is weak, that is bad and i don’t think anyone has the right to take the life of another person. We are trying to repeat the mistakes of the past. My only weapon is LOVE. HOPE AND PRAYERS FOR A PEACEFUL DIALOGUE IN CAMEROON. Drop the guns please. We are destroying our country. If unity is what we stand for then DIALOGUE is important. Locking, beating and killing of the innocent. Cameroonians comes with consequences and convictions. JOHN CHI, JUST SO YOU KNOW MORE THEN 100 YOUNG MEN HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY FROM BAMENDA AND A FILMMAKER IS AMONG. WHAT IF THE 17 YEAR OLD THAT WAS RAPED IS YOUR CHILD. Lying and pretending to PRAY on media because is not your child that’s being killed. To me that is the real disunity. How can you assassinate all the leaders who leading us. Leave us with ones who misleading us. Then go and reward all the ones who mistreat us. Call me AGE.
