The Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey, informs that the users, owners of vehicles and two or three-wheel motor vehicles, that under the provisions of the law for the financial year 2016, the new terms of payment of the right of the Motor Vehicle Stamp Act come into force on January 1, 2017.

From this date, the payment of this right will be made exclusively with the insurance companies on the occasion of the subscription of the civil liability insurance policies. Consequently, the payment of the stamp duty, the tariffs of which remain unchanged, will no longer give rise to the issue of a stamp as in the past. The certificate of insurance issued by the insurance company will henceforth serve as proof of payment in case of control.

The automobile sticker is an annual tax on vehicles in circulation, which results in the obligation to purchase and affix a sticker to the windscreen of each vehicle subject to tax. In Cameroon, the stickers of 25,000 FCFA correspond to the vehicles of 8 to 13 horse power. Those of 2000 FCFA correspond to motorcycles or two-wheeled vehicles. The amount of 15 000 FCFA corresponds to vehicles of 2 to 7 horse powers.
