Cameroon – Tourism: The government of Cameroon brings back the “Yoyo” economic and tourism complex

The Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (Minepat), Louis Paul Motaze, chaired October 21, 2016 in Yaoundé, an interdepartmental coordination to follow up the project of building an economic and tourism complex in Yoyo  in the of Sanaga maritime division, Littoral region.

This meeting was the revival of this structuring project conceived since 2013, as directed by the Prime Minister from the memorandum of understanding in May with the consortium Seaboard Resorts Corporation. In this agreement, the parties have adopted certain actions prior to the execution of this futuristic project. It is for the consortium, for conducting feasibility studies and assorted environmental impact studies; as for the State, the conduct of business of servicing and security of the chosen site.

This interdepartmental cooperation has also enabled participants to take stock of the different procedures required of public administrations involved. As it stands, the more advanced is recorded, including the release of 10 000 hectares of land with a compensation order and a land title belonging to the state, conducting topographic studies and environmental impact studies to respect “environmental safeguards,” consultations with the mobile phone companies … an investment of 1,000 billion CFA francs is expected.
