The goal is to get hold of members of the terrorist group hiding in the region.

Boko Haram may be weakened, but not disarmed. The terrorist group has yet demonstrated in the last few days. On the night of October 19 to 20, 2016, Boko Haram elements indeed attacked the military outpost of Djibrilli, a town in the Mayo-Moskota. During the fighting that ensued, Lieutenant Philip Kaldaoussa was killed. The building housing the military equipment of the station was burned.

Another attack that comes in meanwhile as shown by L’Oeil du Sahel published on October 24, we observed relaxation of security measures in recent months. “Indeed, in recent months, the draconian measures that had been taken to deal with the terrorist threat are not strictly followed. Including the prohibition of the movement of motorcycles after 8:00 PM, the closure of licensed premises from 6:00PM, the controls in the travel agencies and random checks of the defense and security forces in certain neighborhoods and communities. “

It was thus time for the governor to remind everyone to be vigilant. Midjiyawa Bakary for this purpose, convened a security meeting on 19 October. “This consultation meeting with the forces of the region on the security situation lasted more than 3 hours. The anti-Boko Haram meeting gathered around the governor, the commander of Joint Military Region 4 (RMIA 4), General Jacob Kodji, Commander of the first sector of the Joint Multinational Force, Brigadier General Bouba Dobékréo, the commander of Operation Alpha, Colonel Joseph Nouma, the regional delegates of Commerce, Transport and livestock, Fisheries and animal Industries, among others, “says the  newspaper.

The boss of the Far North insisted, “the fact that the controls should be intensified at all levels. The leaders of the defense and security forces have been instructed to review their strategy for greater efficiency in the response against Boko Haram. He prescribed the regional delegate of Commerce, Abdoulaye Boubakary and his staff, to monitor all goods marketing channels in the region.
