Written by Deckson N.

Canada began its FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup campaign with a thrilling 3-2 win over Cameroon on Friday in Jordan.

Fifteen-year-old Jordyn Huitema opened the scoring for the Canadians after just three minutes, but Cameroon answered with two goals to take a 2-1 lead into halftime (goals of Djoubi and Dabda). However, a second-half penalty from Sarah Stratigakis and a strike from Hannah Taylor in the 83rd minute secured a late victory for Canada.
