Written by Deckson N.

UNICEF Cameroon and the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) are pleased to announce their partnership for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations. This event will help send out strong messages for protection of children’s rights in Cameroon.

This innovative partnership aims at attracting the national and international community’s attention on key issues related to children in Cameroon. Notably, it will enable CAF and UNICEF to launch a joint campaign for the respect of children’s rights in Cameroon and to send out messages during AFCON events, to involve players in fostering advocacy for children and to launch fundraising activities for UNICEF in Cameroon.

UNICEF and CAF will present this partnership on the 17th of September, 2016, at 3pm, during a joint press conference at the Palais des Sports of Yaounde.

UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere. UNICEF works in Cameroon since 1975.
UNICEF also partners with major sports events to promote children’s rights through sport and its values. In addition to CAF, UNICEF has developed partnerships with major football teams as FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
