This tablet is the creation of two young Cameroonians, Élie Manuel Yamen & Stéphane Ralph Tchoulak.
Since July 2016, Cameroonians can get a tablet made in Cameroon. The screen has a resolution of 1280X800 pixels, the front and rear cameras respectively have 5 mega pixels and 2 mega pixels. The Raltek tablet has the ability to integrate two SIM cards and weighs less than 430 grams. Currently, the tablet is available in Yaounde and Douala.
The Raltek tablet is the fruit of a long process between the two cousins. In an interview with the online newspaper afroconso.com Ralph Tchoulak explains their working method:
“For our tablet, we have established a list of specifications. We got back in contact with various manufacturers in China to see which was able to meet our needs. After a selection process, we chose the one that was able to assemble a tablet with good performances, and that would be adapted to the African market. “
Raltek designers are not at the end of their dream. They want to put on the African market their product to market and especially another Tablet, 7 inches. These youths are good points on what Cameroon can rely for the development of its digital economy.
