On 9 September 2016, the Equatoguinean company Ceiba, will make its maiden flight to Yaounde, the Cameroonian capital, we learn from official sources. This flight, according to the management of the company in Cameroon, will see the top management of Ceiba taking part.
According to Jacob Matamba, the manager of this airline in Cameroon, cited by the pro-government daily, “Ceiba created a flight map which will leave from Malabo, the head office, towards Yaoundé, with a stopover in Douala”. Before opening this new stopover, the Equatoguinean company only had two routes serving Cameroon: Malabo-Douala-Malabo and Bata-Douala-Bata.
According to statistics from the Cameroonian Aviation Authority, in 2013, Asky Airlines (+10%) and Ceiba International (+47%) were the only two African airlines to set themselves apart, through the expansion of their movements as well as their passenger traffic in Cameroon.
