Cameroon – Issa Tchiroma: MINCOM says Cameroon has broadcasting equipment no African country has ever had before.

On September 1st, the national TV channel, CRTV received equipment specially ordered for the coverage of sports competitions on the horizon. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communication.

While 19 technicians of the Cameron Radio Television are being trained in China, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, Minister of Communication (MINCOM) conducted the receipt of new equipment for use in the media coverage of the Women Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). In an interview with our colleagues of Cameroon Tribune, edition of 2 September 2016, he indicates that this is the first of its kind in Africa.

Answering the question of what these equipment acquired by CRTV for the media coverage of the women African Cup of Nations represents, the MINCOM said:

Lets first mention the pride of the people of Cameroon. This is the first time that the African continent has facilities of this nature, for the production and dissemination of important events. The Head of State has dispatched us here to follow closely the evolution of this case. You can check in history. Each time it is that the CAF the has brought in experts for the production and distribution of the signal. For Cameroon the Head of State decided to take this step and show Cameroon’s capacity to meet the challenge. “

Regarding other ongoing actions to ensure optimal coverage of this sporting event Issa Tchiroma states that

the DG of CRTV has taken all the domestic arrangements in CRTV in terms of production, preparation and training is ready. All that was missing, it was the OB Vans that come to complete what has already been put in place. In terms of public broadcasting, there is no problem.
