Cameroon – Hugo Broos: Indomitable Lions’ coach says he’s not happy with Clinton Njie’s behavior!

The coach of the Indomitable Lions faced the press on August 30, 2016 at the CAF  Centre of Mbankomo.

On a training course for the double confrontation with Gambia and Gabon on 3 and September 6, 2016 in Limbe, the Indomitable Lions have opened the doors of the CAF Centre of Excellence on Tuesday to journalists. The first of two practice sessions of the day was open to the media.

Just after, was a press conference with coach Hugo Bross and Benjamin Moukandjo. Three players still were missing. Adolphe Teikeu, Tony Tchani and Clinton Njie. A journalist asked a question: why are they not here? Response of the coach:

Teikeu and Tchani have good reason. Teikeu played yesterday, so he will be there tonight. Tchani had a problem with his visa. He also will be present today. Njie called me last week to say he had problems in his transfer to Lyon or Marseille. He asked me to be there on Wednesday, I refused. Then he reassured me to be there on Sunday or Monday. But on Sunday, he again called to say he had problems, but he would be there. Since I have no news. I do not know if he will be there or not. It is a behavior that I do not appreciate.

Another subject matter, the absence of the captain Stephane Mbia and his vices, Choupo Moting and Vincent Aboubakar. In this configuration who will be the leader?

I have not thought about that, because it is not really important. The most important thing is to put the team in good conditions. And for the moment, the mood is very good. We must at all costs save the meeting for the confidence and the FIFA ranking. For it is unacceptable that a country like Cameroon is found in the third hat, “said Bross.

For Benjamin Moukandjo, the group is doing well.

There are young people who are there. It is for us, the elders to help them adapt. For now, it is going pretty well. We laugh all, work, because we hope that on Saturday we will win.

Already qualified for the 2017 AFCON, Cameroon faces the Gambia on behalf of the last day of qualifying. Three days later, the Lions will face the Panthers of Gabon as part of a friendly match.
