The ceremony of rice donation, millet and soap valued at 260 000 FCFA, offered to the defense forces of the Cameroonian army by rice farmers in of Maga, was certainly symbolic, but full of emotion, tells Cameroon Tribune of July 29, 2016.
The president of the federation of rice farmers, Seini Ahoudouk, took the opportunity to explain the meaning of this gesture. “We were not sure to spend a quiet farming season, but thanks to the effective and decisive action of our defense forces engaged in the war against Boko Haram, we took care of our fields with tranquility. That is why we thought to offer some of our crops to these valiant soldiers, “he said.
The Governor Midjiyawa Bakari, who received the gift from the President of the Federation of rice farmers of Maga and the CEO of SEMRY , Marc Samatana, immediately handed them over to Colonel Ebenezer Nyamey, Commander of the military representing all defense forces. Forthwith, the Governor instructed the recipients on conduct so that the products reach the target, we read in the columns of the newspaper.
