Cameroon Water Utilities (Camwater), state public company providing drinking water in the country, has achieved a positive net income of FCfa 348.7 million in 2015, we learn in a official communique published on 18 July 2016.

This result is however over 50% lower, compared to the performance achieved at the end of the year 2014, financial year at the end of which Camwater had recorded net income of a little more than FCfa 808 million.

Beyond this positive result, the year 2015 in Cameroon has been marked by a surge in potable water shortages in the main towns in the country. A situation that even led to the dismissal of the Managing Director of Camwater from the beginning of the year.
