It is from a communique of the presidency that Cameroonians learned on May 27, the private trip of their president in Europe.
“The President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya left Yaounde this Friday, May 27, 2016 in the morning for a short private stay in Europe,” read the communique from the Presidency of the Republic.
The Cameroonian president did not go alone. He left with some officials including: Martin Belinga Eboutou Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, Admiral Joseph Fouda, Special Advisor to the Head of State and BIKELE Pierre Simon, the Chief of State Protocol. All close associates of the president.
21 days after, Cameroonians are still not informed about the reasons that led to the trip of the President, or even what would explain his prolonged absence from the country.
Unlike that of his Nigerian counterparts including Buhari, who gave the reasons for his trip and explained to his countrymen why hi extended his stay, the communication of the Cameroonian head of state is particularly evasive on the reasons for private trips of Paul Biya.
