These products were destined for the black market. They were discovered at the Yassa, Youpwé, Camp tchadien and the UDEAC area.
A significant amount of fraudulent fuel has been seized in Douala. Officials from the Ministry of Water and Energy, supported by those of the customs administration and the national gendarmerie, snatched on Friday, June 10, 2016, 5000 liters of fuel and diesel of dubious origin.
The precious liquid was found in the Yassa and Youpwé neighborhoods and some parts of the city notably the Camp tchadien and the UDEAC area. These products were, we learn, to be supplied to the black market. Their origin, however, remains still unknown.
Akono Jaurès, the head of the delegation that carried out the operation, explains that the fuel will be auctioned if, after testing, it turns out that it is of good quality. The funds will be paid into the state coffers. If the fuel is poor, it will be destroyed.
Friday’s action is part of the intensification of operation in the fight against the illicit sale of oil products. It will continue more intensely in the rest of the country.
