Cameroon – FIFA Ranking: Cameroon gets back to African Top 10 after the friendly match against France!

Written by Deckson N.

As every beginning of the month, the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) unveiled on Thursday, June 2, 2016, the monthly ranking of national football teams.

The national teams of Cameroon and France who delivered an interesting friendly match last Monday each recorded a marked increase in the stock values of FIFA. Cameroon has gained five places (58th) and France on its side has won four (17th). A happiness never comes alone, Cameroon has at the same time re-entered the Top 10 best African teams. But, in the continent, Algeria (32nd), progressing on one rank, took over the top spot, ahead of Ivory Coast (36th) who lost two places. Ghana (37th) earned a spot and complements the African podium.

Globally, it is the status quo at the top with Argentina, which remains the leading football nation, followed by Belgium. Thanks to a place won, Colombia settled on the third place by downgrading Chile.

In the ranks of teams that have experienced a resounding fall is Mauritania. The country has lost 12 places and is now ranked 121st. This is not necessarily good news 24 hours to a decisive match against Cameroon in the framework of the AFCON 2017 in Gabon.

1st: Algeria (1)
2nd: Ivory Coast (-2)
3rd: Ghana (+1)
4th: Senegal (2)
5th: Egypt (-1)
6th: Tunisia (0)
7th: Cape Verde (-2)
8: DR Congo (-1)
9th: Guinea (+3)
10th: Cameroon (+5)
