Cameroon – Public Management: Launch of the construction of a 10 billion FCFA hospital in Ngaoundéré, in the Adamawa region

The Cameroonian Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda (photo), has just started the construction of a new hospital in the city of Ngaoundéré, the regional capital of Adamawa. The construction and equipment of the new sanitary infrastructure will cost 10 billion CFA francs, it was officially learned.

The works carried out by the Moroccan company Alliances Construction are scheduled to last 18 months and will be delivered in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The Regional Hospital Center of Ngaoundéré is part of the three-year emergency plan for accelerating economic growth and poverty reduction (Planut), adopted by the Cameroonian government in December 2014, with a budget of 925 Billion CFA francs.

Still under the health component of the Planut, which also plans to strengthen the technical platforms of certain hospitals in the cities of Yaoundé and Douala, a reference hospital should leave the earth in the town of Bertoua, the regional capital of the East region, by the end of 2018. Amount of investment announced: 9 billion CFA francs.
