At the end of 2018, a reference hospital should be in Bertoua, the regional capital of East Cameroon. This is at least the deadline that has just been prescribed by the Cameroonian Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda, to the officials of the Moroccan company Alliances Construction, the successful bidder of this contract.
The construction of this hospital, which will cover a total area of 13,000 square meters, is part of the three-year emergency plan for accelerating economic growth, adopted by the Cameroonian government in December 2014, Budget is CFAF 925 billion. The work of Bertoua will cost 9 billion CFA francs.
According to the Minister of Public Health, this new health infrastructure will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine diseases and problems of otolaryngology (ENT), i.e diseases of the nose, Throat, ears and related structures of the head and neck .
