Cameroon – Vincent Aboubakar: Striker scoring red cards more than goals apologizes to his fans!

Written by Deckson N.

The Cameroonian striker of Besiktas Istanbul makes his mea culpa in a statement released on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

On Sunday, on the occasion of the 25th day of the Superlig, the first division of the Turkish championship, the Besiktas, a club in which Vincent Aboubakar is playing was on the lawn of Antalyaspor, a team with captain the former indomitable lion Samuel Eto’o. The two teams made a draw (0-0). Aboubakar has not been able to find his way back after the African Cup of Nations.

Instead, he scored a poorly honorable record in the 64th minute with a red card. He was thus expelled for the second time in three days after his exclusion Thursday against Olympiakos (4-1), on the occasion of the return match of the round of 16 of the Europa League. Adding to all this his first expulsion of the season against Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League a few months ago, this makes him a total of three red cards in the club for this single season 2016-2017 in progress.

The player seems to have become aware of the gravity of the situation. This is probably what explains the apology that he has just served his fans, the leaders and supporters of the Besiktas and the general public, on the sidelines of the grouping of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon for their next two friendly meetings Vis-a-vis Tunisia (24 March 2017 in Monastir) and Guinea Conakry four days later in Brussels.

“Facts about the game and the stakes have led me to give up three times this season my teammates during important meetings for my club, the Besiktas. These acts, which are unusual and which I greatly regret, are now a landmark and a source of motivation for me to give the best of myself both in Club and in national selection. I will work more to prevent this from happening again, “he said.

He did not fail to thank his fans for the many support that they bring to him daily.
