The Minister of Water and Energy (Minee), Basile Atangana Kouna, on 25 January in Afanoyoa I, in the Yaounde III subdivision, proceeded the inauguration of a gas bottle filling center Of the Cameroonian marketer Green Oil.
The promoter of the company, Guillaume Mbakam Chougha, was given an opportunity to detail that the plant extends over 6000 m2 and has a storage capacity of 880 m3 LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), for a 5000 bottles of gas per day. “At present, the plant employs 50 Cameroonians and has state-of-the-art equipment. 40 000 bottles of gas are already available. This park will increase to 100,000 bottles by March 2017, “said Mbakam Chougha.
He also said that the cost of investments is 3.5 billion FCFA on equity with the participation of business partners, including Cameroonian banker Afriland First Bank.
Cameroon has a total production of 2000 tons of LPG per month for an estimated monthly requirement of 9000 tons. Hence the use of state imports of about 80% of the domestic market needs of LPG.
