Cameroon – Telecommunications Regulatory Agency: Director General Jean Louis Beh Mengue accused of causing the death of an employee

Written by Deckson N.

An employee of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART) died as a result of a fall from the top of the building headquarters of ART. In agony, he would have, in a video, made overwhelming revelations about practices that caused his death.

The young Abena, a former employee of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART), died in unspecified circumstances and was buried in a hurry. This employee of the ART was also a nephew of Jean Louis Beh Mengue, the Director General. The newspaper L’Anecdote published on January 16, 2017 reveals that the DG had concluded that it was an accidental death.

It was an employee who had psychological problems and who used to go to this place (roof of the building) to take pictures … I learned while I was out of Yaounde, that a collaborator had fallen from the building. I remind you that he is my nephew … Contrary to what some people say in the press, he did not die on the spot. He died on Monday at the hospital. I must also tell you that I refrained from going to his bedside on Sunday when I returned to Yaounde, because if I had gone there, it would probably have been said that I sacrificed him (laughs) ” , Said the DG of ART about this suspicious death, during a press luncheon organized by the institution.

The DG of ART also recalled that the young man’s shoes are still on the scene of the accident. For some people, it is impossible to believe in an accident. For a suicidal person does not take the trouble to take off his shoes before committing death, or to make selfies (photos), as explained by the DG. Questions are also raised about the precipitation with which the body was buried.

A few hours before his death, the young Abena would have accused his uncle of having caused his loss. He said he was a victim of the hatred of the DG and his secretary. The latter wished to prevent him from collecting his recall (salary arrears), and were stifled to prevent him from speaking. He would have made these statements in a supposed video a few moments before his death.
