Le Ridley Thomas, a seabed survey vessel to set up a submarine cable between the Cameroonian city of Kribi and Fortaleza in Brazil, arrived at the end of the mission after 80 days of activities, Announces Camtel, the incumbent telecoms operator in Cameroon.

After this phase, the company emphasizes, “the experts and engineers will make use of this crucial information for the phase of effective installation of this cable. In particular, they will make it possible to stop the itinerary of the 6000 Km crossing the Atlantic Ocean and the protections to be implemented, from Kribi to Fortaleza, and to define the characteristics of the cables for their manufacture “.

As a reminder, Huawei Marine Networks, a Chinese firm responsible for deploying this submarine cable, the first infrastructure of its kind to link Africa to Latin America, has already entrusted the manufacture of this 6000 Km cable to the French company Nexans.
